Canel and the Dordogne
In June of 2017, I went to France for a plein air workshop with Vermont watercolorist, Robert O'Brien. We stayed in a lovely Bastide house called Canel (you can stay there too), in the middle of the gorgeous French countryside of the Lot et Garonne. The food was fabulous and the trip was transformative for me, giving me the confidence to set up my easel anywhere and paint what I saw. Here is a sampling of work from that trip, and the ten-day road trip through the Dordogne that followed.
