Waterloom Studio

European landscapes are an irresistible source of inspiration for me, especially those of Italy. My re-entry into the world of watercolor--after a 35-year hiatus--happened in Tuscany during a sabbatical in 2003. I had taken a Winsor Newton travel palette with me, just in case--and once I started painting (on watercolor postcards)--I couldn't believe that I had waited so long. I painted in Tuscany again last fall, and in Central Europe the fall before that. Travel and painting seem to go together for me.
